EVENTS NEWS

Coming up this Sunday it’s the big one. The Cyclemotor 100 miler challenge !

The venue is Quainton Memorial Hall, Station Road, Quainton, Bucks. HP22 4BW.- 8.30am start for all three circuits.

All small or feeble powered machines are welcome to come and take part in this event, three 33 mile circuits of the route earns you the prestigious Cyclemotor 100miler badge, however you do not have to do all three, just come along and ride as many you want to.

There is free food and refreshments available throughout the day to sustain you - we just ask for a donation.

So do come along for a great days riding and socialising.

Please note that HS2 have closed some of the roads into Quainton, you cannot enter or leave Quainton via Station Road ( which leads to the A41) and the Edgcott/Shipton Lee roads are also closed. I understand they have put in a new roundabout and if you turn right there up Blackgrove Road and then turn left at The Willows signposted Quainton it should get you there. You can also access Quainton from Waddesdon.

As usual, before setting off for a run do check on this website or by phoning us that it is still going ahead and that the time or venue hasn't changed, because sometimes we have to make last minute changes due to circumstances that are beyond our control !

I look forward to seeing many of you at some of the runs this coming year.

Not exactly Cyclemotors but below are a couple of pictures from The 75th Banbury Run which I successfully completed this year on a 1914 Sun-Villiers machine kindly lent to me for the event by Alan Hummerstone, thank you Alan !

The first picture shows my 1914 Sun-Villiers in front with a 1920 Sun-Villiers behind it which was being ridden by a young woman called Maria. Maria had only ridden the machine for the first time around the car park the evening before! So a good achievement for us both I felt. We both had a trouble free run and hope to be doing it again next year. The second picture is us both at the finish with smiles of satisfaction on our faces!
